“Don’t step on the cracks, or you’ll fall and break your back…”
“Don’t walk on 3 drain’s at once, it’s bad luck…”
“Don’t walk on a cracked paving slab, it’s bad luck…”
Have you ever been told any of these? I had a friend at college who refused to ever walk over three drain covers at once, I never really understood why. That’s the thing about superstitions though, there really isn’t any under lying logical reasoning for them.
I understand not walking under ladders in case the ladder falls or something is dropped, but that is just common sense 🙂
There are a lot of wedding photographers that I know who are saying that 2013 is a particularly slow year and they don’t seem to have many bookings yet. I don’t think it is any coincidence that there is a “13” in the year and people’s superstition may mean that they are delaying their wedding to a more lucky year, rather than having what is deemed to be an unlucky number attached to their marriage forever.
Personally, I don’t think there is anything in it, and I say go for it! get married in 2013, it isn’t going to make any difference to how you feel about each other, I’m sure love is far stronger than any superstition 🙂
